Celebrating Birthdays
One of my best friend’s called me a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday. I picked up the phone and asked him what’s up. He said he wanted to invite me for his birthday party that evening. I was confused – his birthday had just passed on the previous Wednesday that week. An intimate group of us had gathered around then, with cake and drinks and celebrated the occasion thoroughly until the wee hours of the morning. I mentioned this to him and his reply was something I’ve never thought of before.
“There’s no rule that you only have to celebrate your birthday once! If I’m lucky, I’ll have 70-80 years when I will thoroughly enjoy my birthdays, and I’m already half-way through. It’s the same group, I expect the same shenanigans and I hope you’ll be there on time!”
There’s no rule against squeezing the maximum juice out of life.
