We all know about the fragility of life, in some abstract way, in the back of our mind, but it’s the random reminders that get thrown our way that drives the point home concretely somedays.

Today was one of those days.

Any day, you can get some bad news from the doctor and then your countdown is on. Life’s unfair, and you just got dealt a shit hand. Even with all of the advances in medicine, you might have a few months and there’s nothing you can do to change that. In a year, you’re no more. Happened to one our family’s closest friends. RIP.
