Talk to LLMs

It’s no surprise that LLMs are quickly becoming an indispensable part of modern life. People are finding all sorts of creative uses for them – I’m guessing the vast majority of use-cases are focusing on image manipulation and augmenting web searches.

Recently, I’m having a great time chatting with LLMs like it’s a coach. You can provide any detailed context and follow-up with more questions, but it’s good enough right now that its objective advice is as good as (or often better) than the “trusted friend”. Any state of the art LLM should be fine for the job.

If you’ve ever experienced the feeling where you can spot your friend making some errors in judgement but you feel like the right actions to take are as clear as day, you know that humans have blindspots. Usually, we use a friend (or multiple friends, often in different contexts) to discover our blindspots to get to the simple truth and a clear plan of action.

It’s an amazingly simple use-case, but I feel it’s adding so much value to my routines. Currently, LLMs are coaching me around how to get in better shape and continue to be productive during my sabbatical.
