The Discipline of being Indisciplined
I’m back to writing after a very unproductive and thoroughly indulgent break for Diwali and the Gujarati New Year. This broke my writing streak for a couple of weeks, but I don’t feel even a small pang of regret. Life is finite, and as the Rock says, you need to enjoy the cheat days friends!
I often wonder whether David Goggins can munch down a large pizza and a couple of chocolate shakes these days, or he’s too disciplined for this old diet of his in the present day. I’m using Goggins as an example of an uber-disciplined person that has built their whole public personality around making sure they never stray from their chosen path. But you can substitute your own role model in this example. If they cannot indulge in a break every now or then, isn’t their mind still being held hostage by a spiral of compulsive actions with the is_productive
bit flipped?
Maybe this is just my ego justifying my actions over the past couple of weeks 😬 but I hope my life is never a single shade of black or white. I like the grays.
